Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the use of services provided by Obsidian Servers (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By purchasing or using any service from Obsidian Servers, you (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) agree to comply with this AUP, our Terms of Service, and all applicable laws and regulations.
1. Purpose
This AUP exists to protect Obsidian Servers, our network, and our customers from illegal activity, abuse, service disruption, and reputational or legal risk. Any use of our services that threatens service stability, legality, or fairness is prohibited.
2. Prohibited Uses
You may not use Obsidian Servers’ services for any of the following activities. These prohibitions apply whether the activity is intentional or due to negligence.
2.1 Illegal Activity
- Any content or activity that violates local, national, or international law
- Pirated games, cracked software, unauthorized copies, or license circumvention
- Copyrighted material without proper rights or permission
- Fraud, scams, impersonation, or deceptive practices
- Phishing pages, credential harvesting, or social engineering
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any sexually exploitative content involving minors
2.2 Malware, Hacking, and Security Abuse
- Create, distribute, host, or control malware, viruses, worms, trojans, spyware, or botnets
- Launch or participate in DDoS attacks
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems or accounts
- Scan or probe vulnerabilities without permission
- Bypass or interfere with security protections
2.3 Network and Infrastructure Abuse
- Abuse “unlimited” or “fair use” plans
- Run unrelated background processes
- Use the service as general-purpose hosting, VPN, or proxy unless allowed
- Generate abnormal traffic patterns
2.4 Cheats, Exploits, and Game Violations
- Host or distribute cheats, hacks, or exploits
- Bypass game authentication or DRM
- Reverse engineer game software
- Encourage cheating or exploit abuse
2.5 Abusive or Harmful Content
- Harassment, threats, or targeted abuse
- Hate speech or discrimination
- Violence, terrorism, or extremist content
- Content encouraging real-world harm
- NSFW or sexual content
2.6 Spam and Misuse
- Sending unsolicited bulk messages
- Mass advertising or link farming
- Automation or scraping abuse
3. Game Server Owner Responsibilities
- Follow game publisher EULAs
- Ensure mods and plugins are legal
- Moderate your community
- Secure admin accounts
4. Security and Server Management
- Maintain reasonable security
- Keep software updated
- Prevent unauthorized access
5. Enforcement
- Warnings
- Temporary suspension
- Immediate termination
- Content removal
- Reporting to authorities
